Teaching Assistant

Smart Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist educational setting supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young people with behavioural, emotional, and additional learning needs.

 

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils who may display challenging behaviour and require additional emotional and behavioural support to access learning. The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils build confidence, resilience, and positive relationships.

 

Job Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group interventions

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing

  • Support pupils to engage in learning and overcome barriers to education

  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment

Requirements for a Teaching Assistant

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
